read like a writer

In this book the ideas are how Sophie and Jeff live next door and have a connection. The organization of this book is not really liking each other to becoming friends and getting to know each other more. The author is trying to express how her life was as a teenager she was bulled and hurt.the authors word choice was very strong because it did happen to her and it is a true story. The sentence fluency flows, there are some sound effects she was very hurt but it ends up good. This book is just right for me I understand every word and it all makes scene to me.

Why does Sophie want to be friends with Jeff? Did Jeff and Sophie born on the same day and move into houses next door to each other?I predict that Sophie and Jeff will end up being friends with each other and that she should never be ashamed of her  self.I think her mum is embarrassing her most of all because there only next door and can just climb the fence to talk to each other. My life is nothing like that, but the author had a life lake that she probably got inspired and that why she wrote this book.I do fell sorry for Sophie because she never stops getting  embarrassed and bulled and it did make me fell upset for her.I think this book is emotional i a sad way and funny in other parts. That mixture in a book it really good and easy to understand.

The Five Big Questions : The Boy Next Door

Big Question:1 What makes this book good?

This book is good because it shows different stages. Sophie has different personalities and her personalities change from shy to loud and she understands what she can do and in the end it works out how she wants it to be.

Big Question: 2 What would make this book better?

To make the book better it would need like a adventure so it could be like good luck and bad luck but at the end it all works out good. I think its a bit boring because Jeff ( the boy next door) its a bit boring in that part i don’t like those sort of books. If it had more adventure in it i would be a great book.

Big Question: 3 What is the one most important thing the author wants you to know?

I think the author is trying to tell me the life about Sophie and what Jeff and Sophie have in common because they do have a lot in common. Also the author wants the reader to know about Jeff so you know what they have in common.

Big Question: 4 why did the author writhe this book?

The author wrote this book because it has happened to her. She wanted the whole world to know by writing a book, she also probably also got a inspiration to be a author  so she thought of writing a book like this. It also has comedy some sad parts, nervous parts, angry parts  and happy parts.

Big Question:5 what does the audience need to know?

The people need to know the life of Sophie and what happens to her how her life ends up with Jeff  or with out him. How Jeff changes how Sophie’s friends change and most of all how Sophie changes and when she changes that’s how her life will be.

Fact 1. Fiction is all about a character.

homeless shelters letter (draft)

Dear minister of welfare, i am writing to you because of the homeless people.

They need a shelter because they keep on begging for money, and people feel sorry for them, they need to live on the street and get wet with no food or water. You probably don’t care but it affects the government too. The homeless people can break into shops and steal money or food and water.

In Puckle st , I was going to Woolworths and i have seen many homeless people wondering around for money, probably everyone wants to give them money, but they just cant. Also when I went to Thai land , my family and I were walking to see what restaurant to go to. Then it started raining so we headed back and i saw a young mother with a seven year old child just sitting there in the rain getting wet i gave them all of my money in my purse that i was going to buy a ice  cream with it .Imagine if you were there in the rain with no money. You need to build a shelter for these people.

your sincerely Angelica Martin

Education Week- Scientists do Amazing Things

On Wednesday 21st of May 5/6 B went to GTAC. We were split into groups and did activities which are real problems the first one that I was in was the sea has been affected by some green stuff. The first sample is like a black dot the PH was 7.28, sample 2 looked like 1 green worm made out of green dots the, PH was 2.95 and sample 3 looked like lots of green worms made up of green dots the PH was 8.57. I think sample one is how it starts off, then sample 2 it is growing then sample 3 makes a lot. Then we did the phosphate test. Sample one was 5, sample two was 50 sample three was also 50.

First we tried to fit balloons into liquid nitrogen, we could only fit 10,the reason is that it is so cold in there that the gas partials the balloon came closer together  because it is so cold. I also remember we put some butter and some popcorn kernels into the beaker under the heat, the popcorn kernel had water in it and the heat made it explode and makes it pop and you have popcorn. The butter melted from the heat with made it melt. Then we had a bag of ice and we put salt in and then we put a sealed bag of cream and massaged it then it started to make ice cream the cause of this is the ice made it so cold and then the cream started to become a solid not a liquid how it started off.

I understand about condensation. If you put cold ice water with ice cubes in a cup the outside of the cup starts to drip even if you haven’t spilt it because the room has room temperature  water in the air that you can’t see and it makes the cold water makes it warmer which turns out to drip. And with the butter, it was melted because it was hot and the practicals spread out more so it turns into a gas.

My questions are. Why the ice from the big bag went into the bag that had cream in it and it was sealed? How long exactly does it take for dry ice to melt? Can you fit more than ten balloons in the liquid nitrogen? Why is there water in the popcorn kernel and will it still pop if there was another liquid in it?
